QUEENSLAND FLOOD LATEST: FRIDAY

E-mail Print PDF
queensland_ flood

As you already know an area the size of France and Germany combined, is now devastated by the floods.

The end is still not in sight even as the water has receded slightly this Friday, it is still very high in some areas.

Others have started the enormous task of cleaning up and it has to be done quickly, because if the mud hardens it will be a lot harder and nearly impossible to shift!

No time for volunteers to register online like the governement wants them to do.

If you do come to help out, make sure you wear proper gear, no thongs....

You need gum boots and you need to cover up.

You also need to be able to stand the stench.

If you get a cut in these toxic waters you could be in big trouble!

The footpaths have become dumping grounds fo all kind of goods and furniture.

PDF

christmas.island.tragedy1.jpg

Yes, it does not feel like Christmas on Christmas island today, for all the people who witnessed the horror of the Asylum seekers' boat crashing before their eyes.

Christmas Island, in the Indian Ocean, 2,600 kilometres (1,600 miles) northwest of Perth, is tonight again the site of a tragedy.

The reported number of dead asylum seekers is now about 50, mostly women and children.

WikiLeaks details about the US ambassador to Australia perception of Kevin Rudd's foreign policy performance are a farce.

The gall of the United states is unbelievable, when they have committed and keep on committing the biggest foreign policy blunders in history.

HOW THE BANKS RIP YOU OFF

E-mail Print PDF

Time to kick the banks

It is time to bring the banks to account Mr Swan. Banks cannot be allowed to continue to rob us blind.

After the GFC, everything had to change but nothing did.

...

That sounds to me like a whole lot of socialist garbage. The banks like everyone else are entitled to make the maximum profits they can. They don't twist your arm to make you buy a house or apartment you can't afford and don't make you max your credit cards. High interest rates is the price we have to pay for prosperity for most of the population.  Read More

Election 2010: The Green Flood

We report every hour on the hour

8.30 PM Adam Bandt makes history by winning the seat of Melbourne for the Greens.

Central coast doing well for Labor.

Although we haven't seen results from W.A yet, a victory for the Coalition is unlikely even this early.
